BOS and CHoCH

Definition
A Break of Structure is the break of a swing in the trend's direction (continuation); a Change of Character is the first break in the opposite direction (possible change).
Why it matters
The BOS confirms the trend; the CHoCH (or MSS) is an alarm, not a confirmation of reversal. They must be defined in writing: close beyond the level or wick only.
Practical example
In an uptrend, a close below the last higher low is a bearish CHoCH.
