Limit order

Updated 2026-09-20

Definition

An order to buy or sell only at a price equal to or better than the one specified.

Why it matters

Buy limit below the current price and sell limit above: you enter on a pullback at a better price. The risk is that price never reaches the level.

Practical example

EUR/USD at 1.1000: you place a buy limit at 1.0970 and wait for the pullback.
