Order block

Updated 2026-09-20

Definition

In the SMC approach, the last opposite candle before an impulsive move that breaks structure.

Why it matters

It's hypothesised that large operators' orders sit in that area and that price, on returning, may react. Definitions are many and subjective: it must be marked with a fixed procedure and tested.

Practical example

The last bearish candle before a strong rally that breaks a swing high is a bullish order block.
